Mirage is a fast and simple GTK+ image viewer. It’s a port from Desktop version (http://mirageiv.berlios.de/).
Mirage is not The Gimp but it has some very interesting edition features.
Some features are:
- Supports png, jpg, svg, xpm, gif, bmp, tiff, and others.
- Cycling through multiple images (with preloading).
- Slideshow and fullscreen modes.
- Rotating, zooming, flipping, resizing, cropping.
- Saving, deleting, renaming.
- Custom actions.
- Command-line access.
- Configurable interface.
For run Mirage in the Internet Tablets you need to install python 2.5. You can follow the instructions in the pymaemo page: Python Install.
Mirage run well, though it can go down speed if it treats with large images (for example: 2592×1944 - 1MB). I recommend you to activate the virtual memory and you have a bit of patience
The popup menu appears with a double tap.
If you find some bug, please report it in the garage page:

Nice.
But SVG not open by Mirage on N800
Say “Cannot load image”
Great! This is the one application I’ve been waiting for ever since I purchased my Nokia 770 more than a year ago. I need it to make minor corrections to pictures taken with my mobile phone before I mail or blog them. (Usually: make them smaller and/or crop)
If one of the next releases includes brightness/gamma and corrects a few glitches in the UI, it’ll be the perfect thing… one of the little helpers that should have been pre-installed in the first place!
Thanks.
Unatine, yo are correct. Mirage doesn’t open SVG in the Tablets. It can be some incompatibility with Maemo Gtk, since the desktop version opens them perfectly. I have to investigate a bit this, since it’s a format increasingly used.
Oskar, I have to improve some things in the UI, ‘hildonize’ dialogs and something more, but I wanted to launch a first version before beginning with my final exams
Cheers,
